Hiding textarea resize handle in Safari
You can override the resize behaviour with CSS: textarea { resize: none; } or just simply <textarea style=”resize: none;”>TEXT TEXT TEXT</textarea> Valid properties are: both, horizontal, vertical, none

This works perfectly for me in both Chrome and Safari: <html><body><p>Test</p> <script>window.onbeforeunload = function() { return “Sure?”; }</script> </body></html> When I try to close the window, I get the prompt.
If you want to disable the same-origin policy on Safari (I have 9.1.1), then you only need to enable the developer menu, and select “Disable Cross-Origin Restrictions” from the develop menu.
