Upgraded to Android studio 3.4 – Aapt2InternalException: AAPT2: Daemon startup failed

I had a same problem. Currently, the best option is to downgrade your class path to the last stable version. For me, i changed my class path to *classpath ‘com.android.tools.build:gradle:3.3.2’*and it worked for me. In Android studio 3.4, you can easily downgrade Android Gradle Plugin Version. Go to File->Project-Structure->Project Change Android Gradle Plugin Version to 3.3.2 … Read more

Exclude group: ‘com.google.guava’ from play services related dependencies. For example: compile (‘com.google.android.gms:play-services:8.1.0’){ exclude group: ‘com.google.guava’ } P.S. Before getting your error I’ve faced with a lot of different, so my final dependencies list is: dependencies { compile fileTree(dir: ‘libs’, include: [‘*.jar’]) // Google compile ‘com.google.dagger:dagger:2.0’ apt ‘com.google.dagger:dagger-compiler:2.0’ compile (‘com.google.android.gms:play-services-identity:8.1.0’){ exclude group: ‘com.google.guava’ } compile (‘com.google.android.gms:play-services-plus:8.1.0’){ … Read more

In addition to @RaGe’s answer may be the situation I faced where i had a global git ignore that was ignoring .jar files and so the gradle wrapper jar was never being committed. Thus I was getting that error on the Jenkins server after an attempted /var/lib/jenkins/my_project/gradlew build. I had to explicitly force an add … Read more

This worked well for me android { compileSdkVersion 23 buildToolsVersion “23.0.1” defaultConfig { applicationId “com.example.app” minSdkVersion 15 targetSdkVersion 23 versionCode 1 versionName “1.0” generatedDensities = [] } // This is handled for you by the 2.0+ Gradle Plugin aaptOptions { additionalParameters “–no-version-vectors” } buildTypes { release { minifyEnabled false proguardFiles getDefaultProguardFile(‘proguard-android.txt’), ‘proguard-rules.pro’ } } } … Read more

Add an explicit dependency to play-services-auth along with your firebase-ui-auth dependency: // FirebaseUI for Firebase Auth compile ‘com.firebaseui:firebase-ui-auth:3.1.0’ compile ‘com.google.android.gms:play-services-auth:11.4.2’ This is because firebase-ui-auth has a transitive dependency to play-services-auth and must be used with the corresponding version of play-services-auth. Please see this explanation. firebase-ui-auth |— com.google.firebase:firebase-auth |— com.google.android.gms:play-services-auth Earlier versions of the Gradle build … Read more
